Derek Cohlmia, DDS is a third generation dentist dedicated to his patients' overall health needs. Born and raised in OKC, Dr. Cohlmia began his dental career at the University of Oklahoma for his undergraduate degree. From there he earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry.
Throughout his time in college and dental school, Dr. Cohlmia served within his community and and across the world through mission trips. He is a member of both the American Dental Association and Oklahoma Dental Association.
As an educator, his dental assisting school provides accelerated, hands-on training for individuals seeking a career in dentistry. Students look forward to an active learning environment for a comprehensive and dynamic learning experience.
When he's not creating smiles, Dr. Cohlmia enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and attending OKC Thunder basketball games.
Brandon Cohlmia, DDS is an Oklahoma native. He graduated from Heritage Hall High School and is an Eagle Scout. Brandon received his undergraduate education at the University of Oklahoma. He was then accepted into the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry Class of 2019. As a third generation dentist with a grandfather, father, and brother in the same field; his dedication to serving the community is strong.
Dr. Cohlmia loves spending time with family, friends, and his chocolate lab named Bailey. He enjoys cooking nutritious meals and he is an outdoor enthusiast. Some of his favorite activities include tennis, biking, snow skiing, and rock climbing. He is a spirited fan of professional tennis, Thunder basketball and college football.
Dr. Cohlmia volunteers at Oklahoma Mission of Mercy and at the Good Shepherd Ministries free extraction clinic. He has helped educate and train dental assistants and his mission is to improve Oklahoma smiles to encourage the self-confidence needed to pursue the things they love.
Melissa has an unwavering desire to serve others while fostering a patient-first environment. Melissa has served as an expanded function dental assistant, practice manager, and educator since 2002.
She volunteers with Remote Area Medical and Oklahoma Mission of Mercy. She is a member of the ADAA and is committed to ongoing training both personally and professionally.
As an educator, she is dedicated to providing every student the opportunity to achieve their own success. She has a strong commitment to facilitating this pursuit with high ethical standards of both integrity and excellence each day. Sharing with students the value of putting patients’ needs first is what fuels Melissa to continue training dental assistants.
When she is not serving students or patients, Melissa enjoys traveling with her husband and shopping with her daughters.
Sherry has more than 20 years experience understanding the importance of first impressions. She loves welcoming our patients each day and always has a smile on her face! When she's not serving up smiles, she can be found on the tennis court or spending quality time with her family.
Hayli has been a dental assistant since 2021. She loves working with patients of all ages, especially our older patients. She wears many hats in the office, so expect to hear her cheery voice on the phone, in addition to her serving clinically with the team.
She has visited national parks and recently went to Disneyland and Hawaii. She loves to live a very active lifestyle and likes to spend her free time being in the outdoors, fishing and playing sports.
